Yesterday I woke up feeling a little disconnected. The search for “self” is not an easy road. There is this autopilot setting which kicks in when you are not fully present, and you must be willing to stop it in its tracks and let it go. The disconnect is merely the fact that I have chosen to uproot myself, have moved to a new country and all that would be “normal” is not so normal for a while as I am creating from scratch. Interesting being the observer of life. I have given myself permission to stand outside myself, have a look at all my reoccurring patterns and erase the ones that do not serve me or my higher self. I have given myself permission to reinvent myself, what a beautiful gift. Much the same as giving an artist a blank canvas to create and go wild.
There is still a part of me that lives in disbelief at this gift I have given myself. I am still looking for why I am worthy of it. Another pattern which does not serve me is the “am I worthy” pattern. We all have sabotaging patterns the question is, are you willing to have a look at what yours are and let them go.
In order to uncover who we are and why we act the way we do; we must know our own story. Exploring our past is a brave and important step to understanding ourselves and becoming who we want to be. Unresolved traumas create our reoccurring patterns and beliefs. When we see it is just a story, we can rewrite the ending. At any given moment we can stand in our power and create the life we love and let go of the sabotaging patterns that keep us stuck. The process of self-discovery looks different for everyone, and reality is it’s not something that happens overnight, so please be gentle on yourself. If you can uncover a few sabotaging patterns a week and let them go before you know it you will be well on your way to a whole new you.
If you were given a blank canvas, a fresh start what would you create for yourself and your life? When we love ourselves enough to go in search of who it is we are, we in turn give permission for those around us to do the same.
Coaching Tip:
Just as we must go to gym daily to build muscle, so to do we need to develop the muscle of letting go of sabotaging patterns and beliefs. Each time we stop a sabotaging pattern or belief and replace it with something powerful we cause shifts in our thinking that serve us. It’s the art of letting go.
